Croc attack Dugong Bay

A recent crocodile attack in Dugong Bay serves as a reminder that saltwater crocodiles are found in both fresh and saltwater. This crocodile was photographed at “Favourite Falls” in Dugong Bay, emerging from a freshwater bath under a waterfall. On a high spring tide the freshwater pools are innundated with saltwater, and schools of mullet, queenfish and bream sit in the shallow pools. The crocodiles are also in there chasing fish and quite often visit the pools for a freshwater wash. There are several large crocodiles in Dugong Bay including a 4m croc in the same area.
